Week 28

YAY! We made it to the third trimester!! I need to be better about posting these updates on time because I swear my belly grows bigger each day! This is the home stretch! Time for us to really get our butts into gear and make sure we are all ready for his arrival!

I’ve been pretty slack about making a baby registry, but my goal is to have it complete by my week 29 bumpdate. I have a registry started using an app that I always see ads for on Pinterest called Babylist, and I love it! The only thing I would change about it is adding a barcode scanning option, that way when you’re out and about you can just scan instead of trying to remember and look up items you want to add. We also created a registry at Target this weekend, which was a SUPER easy process! Our Target registry is pretty small, but the big ticket items (car seat, stroller, pack n play) are on that registry. I think I might head out to Babies R Us too and see if they have any appealing items for me to throw into my Babylist registry.

My mom is throwing the baby shower for us, and my little sister is helping her plan that. I have no idea what they have in store for us, so if you’re attending, I apologize in advance for any goofy games! But there will be a photobooth (because I want one and I’m going to make it happen)! That’s all I know about that stuff though!

I finally finished the quilt I made for Sylas, and it looks like poopie!

I still love it though, because I made it and it’s for him! I learned a lot during (and of course AFTER) the project that will definitely be helping me out in the future with other quilting projects, because I had a blast making it! I plan to talk about that in a separate post, it won’t exactly be a DIY post, but a what not to do, ha! I still have to make the crib sheet for him, so the post about that whole project will be after it’s complete; good thing the sheet will take less than an hour to make!

We worked on our glider this past week as muc as we could, the weather here has been.. damp. April showers rings true here! It’s been overcast and rainy for the last few weeks, seriously, anytime I see the sun I get so excited because it’s been so crummy outside. Anyways, we threw in the towel while working on the glider this weekend because we just kept messing up, I blame mercury. We will try again this weekend! I’ll probably work on the cushions this week and try to get those done so we can focus on the chair itself.

Yesterday Jacob went over to his moms for Easter, I had to work, and she put together a cute little Easter basket for Sylas even though he isn’t here yet! Most of the goodies in the basket were for Sylas when he gets here, but she did throw in some candy for Jacob and I!

Moving forward!

How’s momma been feeling?

Very productive, still. I feel like I have been nonstop with the crafting and making stuff for Sylas and prepping his nursery. Isn’t there a word for that? One of the not so fun pregnancy experiences, having to pee so frequently it’s becoming an inconvenience. I’m surprised I don’t have to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night every night, especially with how much water I’ve been drinking, I go so much throughout the day, so I’m sure that’s probably why. Trying to sleep through the night has become a task as well, I wake up at least once, sometimes twice, not even to go to the bathroom. When I woke up last night, I woke up to Jacob, who was still sleeping, sitting up and leaning over to kiss my belly, then rolling back over to sleep. I love him! Even in his sleep he has so much love for Sylas and I.

How’s Sylas doing?

Apparently he has been feeling a bit crammed. I can’t even slouch without getting a fit of kicks to make me move. Right now he’s working on fattening up and getting ready to make his appearance. Estimating weight to be just over two pounds and measuring around 14 inches! Jacob and I talk to him a lot, it’s so freaking cute to watch Jacob talk to him though, even cuter when Sylas responds to us with visible movements!

We are growing more and more excited every day to meet our little Sylas. There’s still lots to do before he gets here, which I’m sure will be in a flash! That’s all I have for this weeks bumpdate though! Thanks for reading! Until next time (hopefully on time!)! xx
